This is one of the famed American wine. Clearly differ from French. The rich taste came from full of sun in the Sonoma, fertile soil. Therefore, it is sweet. A bit difficult to go with my drilled pork with Kyoto leak sauce. Got to try w/ some other sauce.

Quite strong sparks coming out from the bottom. Very pleasant to have this kind of sparking wine in sticky Japanese weather. I had it with Hamo fish. Very good.

Hamo fish, those are mostly available in Kansai area, i.e. Kyoto, Kobe area. Tom found it in a department store today, so he bought it. Good in summer period with Umeboshi soup.

I have been to Tsukiji, the fish market in Tokyo today.

Nice Hamaguri (clamshells) was best matching with the Puligny-Montrachet which we bought at the Costco. Light taste and aroma is just suitable for a simple meals.

February 3rd. This is a day called "Setsubun", meaning season between. Final day of the winter and from next day, Spring will be starting on a calender.

We have a unique customs for the little celebration. We open windows and throw beans, saying 'devil outside and happiness inside' then, afterwards, we eat beans, the same number of age..Oh, what happen if I turn 100 years old? We also eat "Ehomaki, which is a kind of Norimaki sushi, containing 7 different goods inside. This represents 7 happiness Gods of China.

In relation with flowers, we put dried bean cell branch as well as Iwashi fish, also Holy leaves at outside of entrance A devil hates all of them, so that it cannot come in a house.

We forgot to drink our beer. We went to the Kiuchi Brewary company in summer 2008. The beer tasted like the Belgiun beer, but that was much much better than the leftovers!

Ha, anyway, amber was a bit better than white ale.

He is a great guy.. Opened his shop in Nishiazabu.

At this time of the year, the Keio department store sells various Ekiben, which are lunch boxes sold in local train stations. My best 3 Obento (Ekiben) are,

1. Hokkamuri Sushi (sardine, or round herring) from Hokkaido

2. Masu Sushi (Trout fish) from Toyama

3. Kakino-ha sushi (sardine wrapped by Kaki, persimmon leaf) from Nara

Beautiful label. The orange is an inspiring colour to me this year. It connects with the contents well. Very nice one.

Muscat Bailey A is a grape introduced/ developed by Mr. Zenbei Kawakami, the father of Japanese wine in 1927 (S.2) . The age 2007 was good vintage for Japanese grapes. In addition to strawberries, you may feel some dark cherry or some kind of berry lays. Good with casual coocking.
