CALERA 2006


This is a onion tarte. Famous cocking of Alsace, France.
We looked for some Alsace wine, but out of stock. We had CALERA 2006. Good but 2007 better????

Chassagne-Montrachet 2005


We are in the middle of summer vacation. As it is so hot in Tokyo, I have no particular plan to go somewhere. I enjoy cocking in the evening now. From left, small apetizer, summer vegetable assort with pumpkin, togan (summer melon like...) and Okura, a bit sticky green vegetable. The main dish is meunier of sole fillet, just simple butter sauce.



Wine, Chassagne-Montrachet 2005 by Philippe Colin. Weak aroma but barrel.

Principe di Corleone Sophia, Catarratto 2008

Another Italian wine.
The grape is Catarratto, also from Sicilia.

Elegant bouquet if it is chilled well. This is also very reasonable so we went back and bought couple more.

New wine bucket

It works out very good. We definitely need to chill 2 bottles at once during summer time in Tokyo.

The wine on the left: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Classico
Very reasonable, only cost us 1,200JPY or so. Fresh and fruity!
Organic? OK, just found the grape is Verdicchio. Good with Sanma Sashimi!

The reason why Italian is, just recently I had a chance to taste various different Italian wine. Not a single grape familiar with. They have good wine in Sicilia!!

I had a great chance to taste lots of different unique wine from Italy last Friday. Indeed, so many local grapes and none of them I knew. So we remember that we had couple Italian wine which we purchased many years ago. Yes, it is time to open!
Barolo is a north-west area of Italy, land with mineral, therefore grapes naturally contains some mineraly taste and tannin.

It is a good vintage.

From Dijon

The wine is one of our daily selection and the dijon mustered, which I found at an import store. I made a mustered sauce for steaks. The mustered is quite good!

This supporsed to be mild and creamy, but the bottle was rather acidity.
Well, I hope I can try another vintage. I had it w/ fish with mastered and sesami sauce.
